I fulfilled a lifelong dream and actually walked onto sacred ground in Route 66 “Geekdom”..the famous Chain of Rocks Bridge. Opened as a toll bridge in 1929 it was made a public road a few years later and served as a bypass of St Louis for Routes 66 and “The National Road” Route 40.
